Acquisition of the spring division of J. N. EBERLE & CIE GMBH in Augsburg
The acquisition of the spring division of J.N. EBERLE & CIE GMBH in Augsburg, Germany and the subsequent founding of the company J.N. EBERLE FEDERNFABRIK GMBH in the Bavarian town of Schwabmünchen lay the foundation for the introduction of the heavy power springs and stamped-bent parts that are today so successful in the global markets.
Acquisition of spring production at Junghans Stahl
KERN-LIEBERS takes over spring production at Junghans Stahl, a company in the Black Forest town of Schiltach, and integrates it into the Schramberg-Sulgen plant. The development of texture-rolled carbon steel, begun in the late sixties, is continued and expanded, and adopted for other applications such as the power springs with a flat characteristic curve for seat belts with high service life requirements. The production of springs for seat belts has been a success story for KERN-LIEBERS, with more than 4 billion produced to date.
100 years of KERN-LIEBERS - 100 years of expertise
In 1988, KERN-LIEBERS celebrates its 100th anniversary with a ceremony and open day for the public.
In the same year, KERN-LIEBERS South Africa is established and, after the acquisition of the company CAPEWELL SPRINGS in Cape Town, starts production of strip springs, wire springs and stamped-bent parts.
