Further expansion in Asia
China becomes the largest growth market for KERN-LIEBERS. The company invests in the development of new locations and establishes subsidiaries in Tianjin (2005) and Guangzhou (2005), China. A second plant is built at the existing location in Taicang (2006), the joint venture WÄLZHOLZ-KERN-LIEBERS (2006) and BRUKER-SPALECK SOLAR TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD is founded (2008). In India, a new plant is also be built in Tumkur near Bangalore (2006).
Acquisition of the company Franz Josef King KG in Schramberg, Germany
Acquisition of the company Franz Josef King KG, a longtime competitor of Carl Haas, with plants in Berneckstrasse in Schramberg, St. Martin in South Tyrol and Stribro in the Czech Republic.
Continuation of the global growth strategy under new management
The organization of management within the company is restructured, with business activities bundled into five global business units separately accountable for performance.
In the same year, Dr. Hans-Jochem Steim retires from the management board and takes over the chairmanship of the administrative board from his brother Dr. Jürgen Steim.
Management responsibility for the KERN-LIEBERS group is assumed by Dr. Udo Schnell (Chairman of the Management Board) and Klaus Scheuble (Commercial Director). In the year 2013, the management board is expanded to include Dipl.-Ing. Josef Schwuger (Technical Director).
