KERN-LIEBERS OPENS NEW PLANT IN MONTERREY, MEXICO
KERN-LIEBERS officially inaugurated its new plant in Monterrey, Mexico.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León, Iván Rivas Rodríguez , the Mayor of Guadalupe, María Cristina Díaz Salazar, as well as Dr. Erek Speckert, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of the KERN-LIEBERS Group.
With an investment of $10 Million Dollars, the KERN-LIEBERS Group is committed to Nuevo León, and in particular to the metropolitan area of Monterrey, to strengthen its presence in North America:
“For KERN-LIEBERS it is extremely important to be present in North America, the largest commercial market in the world, and we are convinced that Monterrey is the ideal location to be in this region, due not only to its geographical location, excellent connectivity and favorable conditions for the industry, but also to the good quality of life that it offers to our employees”, stated Enrique García, General Director of the Monterrey Plant.
KERN-LIEBERS has been present in Nuevo León since June 2019, when the first phase of this plant began operating. Due to the growing demand from our customers in North America, and the success of having settled in this state, today an additional 3,387 m2 of surface area are inaugurated, which represents an expansion of 50% compared to the first phase. Likewise, the employees that are part of the team of this plant will increase from 150 to 300.
“Germany is one of the largest investors in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, with $469 million dollars invested in the entity in the last two years. We welcome KERN-LIEBERS and we are sure that here they will find the best human capital, infrastructure and facilities to further expand their production”, said Iván Rivas, Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León.
At this plant, KERN-LIEBERS will manufacture more than 50 million high-precision parts, whose main applications include: seat belts, lifelines, air conditioning dampers, hose retractors, balancers for hand tools, tape measures, starters for electric saws, springs for windows, among many others.
