Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Gref appointed as CTO

The KERN-LIEBERS Group has appointed Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Gref as the Technical Managing Director and CTO, effective May 1, 2024. This decision marks the conclusion of a comprehensive strategic realignment of the Management Board and the Group's aim to promote innovation and technological development.
Dr.-Ing. Gref, 54 years old and a father of two children, has been with KERN-LIEBERS for the last 13 years. After completing his apprenticeship as a locksmith, he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart, graduating with the equivalent to a Master in Science (Diplom Engineer). His subsequent PhD at the Institute for Laser Tools at the University of Stuttgart focused on innovative laser welding techniques. Before joining KERN-LIEBERS, Dr.-Ing. Gref gained valuable industrial experience in several positions in process development and production planning at Daimler AG. Since 2011, he has held various leadership positions at KERN-LIEBERS, most recently as Senior Vice President of the Stamping Division.

"His comprehensive knowledge of process and manufacturing technologies at KERN-LIEBERS, as well as his excellent reputation as a leader, qualify him to successfully drive our technological initiatives forward."
KERN-LIEBERS has also extended the contract of Mr. Udo von Reinersdorff as CFO for another five years. " Udo von Reinersdorff has contributed to the positive development of KERN-LIEBERS, even during economically challenging times. The extension of his contract reaffirms our common goal to develop the Group successfully in the coming years," says Dr. Jürgen Steim, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the KERN-LIEBERS Group.

Dr. Erek Speckert (Chairman of the Management Board & CEO), Udo von Reinersdorff (Commercial Managing Director & CFO), and Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Gref (Technical Managing Director & CTO).
