Double inauguration in Queretaro, Mexico
11/03/2015
To reflect the fact that Central Mexico has emerged as the large automotive cluster in North America, KERN LIEBERS is concentrating the production of almost all wire springs in the NAFTA region in the new 10,000 square meter wire spring plant. The KERN-LIEBERS PIERON production facility in the Greater Detroit area remains in place. The new wire spring plant in Queretaro will also house the newly founded joint venture BRAND KERN-LIEBERS MEXICO (BKL Mexico).
The existing plant for stamped-bent parts in Queretaro has been expanded by 7,500 square meters. The expansion became necessary once growth rates and forecasts moved clearly into the double-digit range.
The ceremony was attended by around 350 invited guests from the worlds of politics and industry. Dr. Udo Schnell, CEO of the KERN-LIEBERS group, pointed to the successful presence of KERN-LIEBERS in Mexico over many years. Since 1987, a total of 40 million euros has been invested in Mexico. Today, KERN-LIEBERS has production locations in Rio Bravo near Reynosa, Mexico City and Queretaro, where it employs around 800 people.
