Committed worldwide
KERN LIEBERS has been involved in many areas relating to sustainability for many years. This includes participation in the United Nations Global Compact or voluntary assessments by ECOVADIS or the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). Find out more about our commitment and our ratings here.

SBTi
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) was launched in 2014 by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and has since become an important standard for corporate climate protection. The SBTi defines, verifies and publishes science-based climate targets that are in line with the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.
Based on the calculation of the corporate carbon footprint in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2018 for the 2023/24 financial year, we have developed science-based reduction targets:
- Reduction of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 58.8% by FY2033/34 compared to the base year FY2023/24
- Reduction of absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 35% by FY2033/34 compared to the base year FY2023/24
These targets have been reviewed, recognized as science-based and approved by the SBTi. We are continuously working on expanding measures to achieve our targets, such as the purchase of green electricity, the development of sustainable heating concepts and the use of raw materials with a reduced product carbon footprint.

ECOVADIS
As one of the most important global sustainability ratings, EcoVadis evaluates over 150,000 companies from 185 countries in the categories of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Since 2021, KERN LIEBERS has also been using EcoVadis to make our sustainability performance transparent.
Carbon Disclosure Project
Since 2000, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) has been evaluating and publishing emissions and environmental data from companies and municipalities as a non-profit organization (NGO). We are also taking advantage of this opportunity and have been submitting our environmental data since 2019.
United Nations Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact UNGC is aimed at companies worldwide that base their actions on defined principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and climate, and the prevention of corruption. These principles are based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in 2015, which are at the heart of the "Agenda 2030".
KERN LIEBERS has been part of the UN Global Compact since 2022. This means we are committed to supporting the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and thus contributing to a better world of tomorrow.
