For many years, KERN LIEBERS has been committed to various aspects of sustainability. This includes, among other things, participation in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the validation of climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and voluntary assessments by ECOVADIS or the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). SBTi
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) was launched in 2014 by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and has since become an important standard for corporate climate action. The SBTi defines, verifies, and publishes science-based climate targets that are aligned with the 2015 Paris Agreement.
Based on the calculation of our corporate carbon footprint in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2018 for the 2023/24 fiscal year, we have developed science-based reduction targets:
- Reduction of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 58.8% by FY 2033/34 compared to the base year FY 2023/24
- Reduction of absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 35% by FY 2033/34 compared to the base year FY 2023/24

ECOVADIS
As one of the most important global sustainability rating systems, EcoVadis evaluates over 150,000 companies from 185 countries in the categories of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. For the 2025/26 fiscal year, KERN LIEBERS received a bronze medal for the second consecutive year. This places us among the top 35% of the “Manufacture of Other Metal Products” industry in the categories listed above.

EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment
Carbon Disclosure Project
Since 2000, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) has been evaluating and publishing emissions and environmental data from companies and municipalities as a non-profit organization (NGO). We are also taking advantage of this opportunity and have been submitting our environmental data since 2019.
For the year 2025, KERN LIEBERS has achieved a B rating (Management Level) in the “Climate Change” category.
United Nations Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is aimed at companies worldwide that base their actions on defined principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and climate, and anti-corruption. These principles are based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted in 2015, which are at the heart of the “2030 Agenda.”
KERN LIEBERS has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2022. In doing so, we commit to supporting the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, thereby contributing to a better world for tomorrow.
